Happy Tuesday everyone! We live up of in the mountains located in El Dorado County California. The elevation is at 4,000 ft. On our property, we have several large trees. They are Pines, Cedars, and a few small oaks. We also get the variety of pine cones. These are great for making fun craft projects.
A few days ago I finished putting together my cedar wreath I made from small cedar trees. The day was beautiful with a little wind. Perfect conditions to gather pine cones and spray paint them outside on my picnic table. After my pine cones were all painted and dried, I split the little ones up into 3's. As you can see in the photo they turned out really well that way.
I used a thinner gauge floral wire to attach the pine cones together and to the base of they wreath. No hot glue here. I have discovered hot glue on my outside craft projects do not last due to the very cold weather we get in the wintertime. Things tend to fall off over a few seasons being outside. Using floral wire works well.
For me, I enjoy using the natural goodies available to me at our home. It is fun to think of different ways I can use them.
